Camera +

camera plusI use my iPhone for a lot of my work photography. It’s convenient because I always have my phone on me and it keeps me from always having to lug my huge camera around. It may seem surprising but your smartphone CAN take photos as professional as a camera!

My good friend Mary recommended Camera + to me and now I use it constantly to photograph products for my business.

Here are some examples of photos I’ve taken with Camera +.  I’ve used these photographs on Facebook and other social media to promote my hair accessories.

Poppytalk Handmade

Poppytalk Handmade is an online curated marketplace offering some of the best designs worldwide.  Exhibitions change each month consistently offering fresh new designs. Any artist may submit their work to be included and it’s worth the try because Poppytalk receives traffic of approximately 1 million pageloads a month!

Poppytalk Handmade promotes each chosen artist on the front page and also offers them a separate page where they may include a biography and photographs of their work. Poppytalk sends consumers directly to the artist’s online shop so that the sellers may buy directly from the artist.

The new exhibition launches on June 4 so hurry up and check out these current items before they disappear! Here are a few of my favorites.

Owl Print by Gingiber, Terrariums Print by Small Talk Studio, Safari Rubber Stamps by Wee Gallery, Pops I Photography by September Wren

Grandma’s House

Lately my Grandma has started giving me and my sister vintage goodies every time we visit.  Most of the items no one else appreciates so it’s great for us! The other day we hit the jackpot! I received a vintage teapot my Grandmother’s friend made in 1957, a milk glass pitcher, a vintage plate another one of my Grandmother’s friends made, and a vintage French glass canister.

The plate is a mosaic with ceramic leaves. Both it and the teapot have gold accents (the plate is gold underneath and the teapot has a gold handle)

The French canister has “Le Parfait” engraved in the glass and the pitcher has images of grapes and fruit. The milk glass belonged to my great-grandmother.

The Encyclopedia of Collectibles

I recently received a gift from my friend Lauren. She’s like a sister to me and found the perfect present to cheer me up while she was at an estate sale. She gave me two sections  from The Encyclopedia of Collectibles.

These collectibles have all kinds of fabulous articles and photos including Barbed Wire, Bicycles and Botanical Prints! Love love love!

I find a lot of vintage colored glass on my thrifting adventures. I came across some translucent pale pink glass awhile ago and was told that it was Depression Glass. I started to find similar items and decided to learn more about this beautiful delicate pink glass.
