About

profile pic for website Miss Mary Margaret (formerly Fly Away Fox) was started by me, Mary Margaret Sparks, in 2011. I’m based in Louisville, KY and New Albany, IN.  I love sewing and hunting for vintage treasures so I decided to combine my loves and that’s how I got started. I began by selling vintage accessories and fabric.  As my fabric collection grew I realized that I could make beautiful creations and started sewing vintage style aprons and making hair accessories. In 2013, I expanded my business to include pillows and infinity scarves. I use mostly vintage material as well as fabrics that I purchase from small businesses. I try to keep everything ‘green’ by re-purposing and not buying new as much as possible.

I make five different styles of headbands, infinity scarves, braided scarves, bandanas (triangle scarves), aprons and pillows. I can do custom orders and make items for both women and children. My desire is to create beautiful things to help my customers feel beautiful!

I currently sell at local retail stores in Louisville – Block Party Handmade Boutique, Consider Boutique and Pink Door Boutique. You can find my items online at Store Envy as well.

Every year, I donate a percentage of my annual income to Scarlet Hope. They are an organization working to minister to women in Louisville’s adult entertainment industry. I also volunteer with them helping out in their Hope for Kids program. I’m a member of Sojourn Community Church and a Christian. I believe in using the talents God has given me to make a difference both in my community and the environment through my handmade business.

In my spare time I enjoy volunteering and collecting vintage fabric and Pyrex. I’m passionate about local food and love to garden.  I’m married to a computer nerd rock star named Jason and have two little dogs Nora June and Rosie Mae. My husband and I are expecting our first child (I’m due in May 2015!) and are currently in the process of adopting children from Bulgaria. Your purchases go towards funding our adoption and helping us to provide a loving home to two children in need of love and family.
