Fennec Foxes

Today’s fox post is all about Fennec Foxes. These adorable little creatures are known for their large ears.  They’re fascinating little animals that live in North Africa and Asia. Their large ears help them hear prey moving underground. I think that’s pretty amazing.

The Fennec Fox weighs anywhere between 1 – 4 pounds and they’re only about 9 – 16 inches long. They are the smallest of their kind in the world.

This little fox is so small that it’s main predators are owls and other birds of prey.  They’re commonly caught in the wild and sold as exotic pets.  I would discourage you from getting one though as Fennec Foxes are extremely social and live in packs (unlike most other fox species)  It would be a shame to keep one in solitude.  We can admire they’re cuteness though!
